There was already a group of their fellow educators at a table in the back.
Cindy the FCS teacher was at the table with a turkey wrap and a glass of wine. Russ the assistant principal was there too drinking a beer and talking sports with Janice the librarian. The gym teacher Mark was at the bar with Monica (the French teacher) ordering shots.
Russ would be in hot water if the principal knew he was out drinking with the teachers on a weeknight, but he was comfortable knowing this group was almost exclusively reserved for the younger, single school staff.
"What's the point of this?" Janice asked out loud to the group. There was no reply.
